Eid Cards (Part 1)
Asalamualykum people!
So Eid is in a few days and in sha Allah it will be as fantastic and great as it always is!
In honour of this wonderful day I decided to come up with a DIY Eid card that's relatively inexpensive and you could give it to whoever you want once you make it!
For those who don't know, Eid is the day that marks the end of Ramadan, (See: Last Ten Days of Ramadan) a month of fasting every day from dawn till dusk. On Eid we muslims wear our best clothes, and we comb our hair up all nice, or in my case I do my hijab up all nice, and just take a little more time in the morning to look a little more snazzier than usual because well, it's Eid.
Think Christmas dinner. People get dressed up spend time with loved ones, and have a great big meal together as a family.
Eid is somewhat similar to that, except instead of just dinner, most families spend the entire day celebrating Eid.
It's different for everyone. My family, we go out to my mom's side in the morning and our dad's side in the evening. Some people go to the mosque for the Eid prayer (Eidgaah/Idgaah). And some people chill at home.
Giving gifts on Eid is encouraged. I know my aunts and uncles love to give us 'Eidi' which is really just money. For some kids, Eid is pretty much like payday. They start raking in cash for each fast they kept, how many sets of the taraweeh prayer they completed and how well they behaved. Those kids become total bosses on Eid. They might even try to start bribing people with all the money they got. lol jussssstt kidding.
Anyway, the DIY tutorial should be up by tomorrow.
Peace,
L.
